John

John’s diverse background has been an asset in relating to people of the church. He was born (1955) and raised in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Baptized in the Conservative Baptist church, he grew up in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church and in the “Jesus People” renewal. He holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Physics from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1982.

Toni

Toni Fickett was born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma. She is a frequent speaker at retreats and conferences. A former schoolteacher, she gives her time to teamwork in ministry with her husband, women’s ministries, homeschooling, refereeing soccer games, and teaching swimming.

The Ficketts ministered in Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and New Mexico then pastored for seventeen years in Waynesboro, PA and eight in Wisconsin before moving to Thailand.

John also served as a faculty member of Albuquerque Bible College.

John was the Senior Pastor of New Vision BIC Church, in Pewaukee, WI (West of Milwaukee), served as Assistant Director of Roxbury Holiness Camp and was a member of the BIC Board for World Missions.

Presently, John and Toni are in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand pursuing an informal cross-cultural ministry and John is writing a book on raising kids.

John has been a conference/seminar/retreat speaker, often with his wife, on the topics of marriage (Marriage Builders), raising children (Turbo-Boost for Parents), guy-girl relationships/dating (Radical Righteous Relationships), building the Scripture into life (Working at the Word), evangelism and missions (The Purpose Jesus Dropped), interpretation of Scripture (What Did God Say?), godly worldview (Get Real!), practical and realistic evangelism (Go!), and prayer (35 Days to Grow in Prayer). John’s teaching style is creative, practical and challenging. Resources John has written include Confess It Possess It: Faith’s Formula??, 35 Days to Grow in Prayer, and Go!.

John enjoys leading worship with guitar, singing in music groups, graphic design and fine art, working with computers, writing, camping and backpacking. (He also acknowledges that some of these things are in danger of becoming distant memories!) Toni loves discipling women, cropping photos, and gardening. Most of all, they love spending time with their family.

Their children (age 20-34) are: Micah, Nathanael, Gabriel, Judah, Seth, Asher and Baruch.
